Why does iPhone need “Full Access”?

In shortWith Full Access off, iPhone doesn't let the keyboard talk to the Yazsın app, so the Speak button doesn't work.

Why is it needed?

The Yazsın app is what listens to you and turns your voice into text.

The keyboard gets the text from the app and puts it where you're typing.

Unless Full Access is on, iPhone doesn't let the keyboard talk to the app.

With Full Access off, you can still type with the letter keys. Only the Speak button doesn't work.

What leaves your phone?

  • What you say after you tap the Speak button. It's sent to be turned into text.
  • The letters you type with the keys aren't sent anywhere on their own.
  • The one exception: if you fix a word Yazsın just wrote, the text and your fix are sent so Yazsın can learn that word. To learn, only the changed words are kept.
  • In password boxes, iPhone opens its own keyboard anyway.

When you turn on Full Access, iPhone shows a warning. It's the same for every keyboard.

Turn on Full Access

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap Keyboard.
  4. Tap Keyboards.
  5. Tap Yazsın in the list.
  6. Turn on Allow Full Access.
